Extra Magic Hours! (Day 5 - 3/9)

Today was a scheduled "rest" day...very much needed too!!  We slept in and headed to the water park, Blizzard Beach.  It was overcast and a little windy, not exactly optimal conditions for a water park, but, crowds were scarce at least!!

Dave talked us all into hitting the raft ride first, Team Rapids...Liv and I are not fans!!!  Then we hit the lazy river which we all enjoyed.  Although, Dave managed to drop the camera in the river and we had to cut the ride short to go look for it.  He and Owen walked the river trying to find it and I took Liv to Tike's Peak to play while we waited.  The boys didn't have any luck, so, we headed over to the wave pool, Melt Away Bay.  The boys and I loved it, but, Liv wanted to go back to Tike's Peak.

So, Dave took Owen to do the Slush Gusher and they loved it so much, they rode it twice.   I took Liv  and we checked-in with Lost and Found where someone had already found and returned the camera, lucky for us!  Then it was back to Tike's Peak where she did the smaller version of the slides and LOVED them!

Both kids had a blast and were exhausted by lunch time.  Check out Liv's hair, it amazes me the curls she gets when she's in any kind of humidity.  She was clearly thrilled to pose for the picture.

We headed out and hit a second Steak 'n Shake that was absolutely awful!!

After a late nap, we headed to the Magic Kingdom for a late evening with Extra Magic Hours until midnight!  We had an absolute blast!  We did SO much!!!  We started with Peter Pan's Flight, a trip on Prince Charming's Regal Carrousel for all of us and then a trip on the Liberty Square Riverboat, Pirates of the Caribbean, Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride, Enchanted Tiki Room, watched the Electrical Light Parade, met Anna and Elsa, then Liv and I met Cinderella and Rapunzel while Dave and Owen looked for churros to no avail, then it was off to the Many Adventures of Whinnie the Pooh, Gastons Tavern for a couple warm cinnamon rolls, then Owen and I rode the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train while Olivia and Dave took on Dumbo, then Owen and I met them and we all rode it again, the three of them then took a spin on the Tea Cups, then onto Goofy's Barnstormer (twice for Dave and Owen), we then headed to Tomorrowland to watch Stitch's Great Escape and both kids picked out  Stitch stuffdies.  We headed for the buses, but, stopped at Main Street Confectionary for some super good cookies for the ride home.

Olivia does not wake up happy...even after a PB&J sandwich! ;O)

I don't think they had the bus arrival times last time we were in the park, so, thought I'd share a picture of the screen located at every resort bus stop.  I can't help but think they must have an app you can download too, but, I never bothered to look.  I only wish they had these at the bus stops at the parks when you are trying to get home.

Rapunzel took me aside as we were leaving the meet and greet and told me that Olivia was just "precious".  I thought that was really sweet of her to take the time to do that.  I can't imagine how many kids she deals with every day.

Olivia was SO nervous to meet Elsa.  She and Anna are her favorite princesses, but, she tells everyone that Elsa is her sister.  The princesses are so amazing. They stay in character even when talking to the kids.  They don't just chit-chat, they bring up things from their movies to discuss.  Like Rapunzel asked if Liv ever gets tangles and who helps her comb her hair.  It was pretty funny.

Turns out the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is SO much more fun when you don't have a little one with a death grip on your arm!!

They've added a second Dumbo ride to my surprise.  The whole park was so slow though tonight,   they only had one ride running and they were offering for us to stay seated if we wanted to go for another spin on almost all of the rides.  "Jumbo" is Olivia's favorite, hahaha!

Aladdin's Carpet Ride was another favorite of both kids'.  Olivia thought it was great that she got to ride with her brother.

This is just a shot of Beast's castle above Be Our Guest restaurant and Gaston's Tavern where we had the amazing cinnamon rolls.

With the exception of the minor detail of not being able to see Tinkerbell fly down from the castle, I personally think Fantasyland is the best place to watch the fireworks show.

Liv found this hat in the shop outside of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and wanted it really bad.   We really debated letting her buy it because she was the cutest pirate ever in it, but, it was freaking $35!!!  Hard to justify that!!

I just love how willing Owen is to accommodate his mother and take a nice picture for me...;O)

By the time we got home, it was 1am!!  So much for a "down" day!
