School Pic...

I've been meaning to post this since we got it about a month ago now or better!!  Isn't our little man handsome in his Kindergarten picture!  It's breaking my heart to see him grow up so fast.  I feel like there's a clock ticking in my head, counting down what little time I have left before he's grown and gone.  We are so proud of him and are constantly being told by his teachers what a great kid he is and how glad they are to have him in their classes.  His company makes even the most boring chores, eventful, you never know what he'll say next!

Happy Thanksgiving...

Or should I say, Happy Black Friday weekend...that seems to be a bigger priority to most these days!!  We went out and braved the black Friday crowds again this year to get our santa pictures out of the way.  Much to our surprise, we managed to hit a lull in the madness and got quite a bit of shopping (for ourselves and the kids) in before the die hard shoppers got their second wind and came out in full force around lunch time which was weird considering the biggest sales ended at noon.  But, whatever works!  We had fun and had a much more pleasant santa experience than I expected, Olivia seemed unfazed which was not anticipated!!!  I'm hoping that holds true again next year, but, that may be pushing it! ;O)

Considering this was the first santa photo for Olivia, we sprung for this extra shot of her visiting with him.  I cropped it kind of weird, I have to go back and rethink it, but, still think you get the focus with it!  Hope you all have a safe and happy T-day weekend!

Play Day...

So, I have a million things I SHOULD be doing, but, I got sidetracked with some photos.  A friend had her little girl's photos done recently and the photographer used Christmas lights in them.  That had never crossed my mind for some reason, so, I started digging and opened up a whole world of ideas I never would have come up with on my own!

I can't remember what this is called, but, I'm itching to put up the Christmas tree now!!!  You are supposed to be able to change the glow of a light to any shape you want.  Dave and I worked at this for far too long, but, we only managed to get hearts or half of a Christmas tree.  I'm not sure exactly what we are doing wrong, but, how fun will it be to do this on the glow of the tree lights to get pictures of the kiddos!
Next, I started poking around on Pinterest and come across a bunch of fun photographs.  I LOVED this picture (click here to open the link) and had to try it with Olivia.  I certainly did not get the same effect, but, I still love the photos!!  I'd like to think it's because they have a better camera and not assume it's the photographer! ;O)

This is my absolute favorite! I wish it wasn't so tippy though, I can fix that!

Prior to taking the light shots, I thought I'd test out the B&W mode on my camera.  Dave's used it before, but, I never have.  Check out these shots!!!  I LOVE them all!

This will upset all of the grandma's, but, the kid cries every time I put her down, so, her tears no longer have the same effect on her mother!

I made Owen sit and do some too, he was less than thrilled especially since his dad just cut his hair.  Despite his less than eager disposition, I was thrilled with the results!  I love how the black and white emphasize their little faces.

This is my absolute favorite of Owen, but, it wasn't as in-focus as I would have liked.  I messed around with it and even added a little color.  I still like it regardless of a little blur! ;O)
