Play Day...

So, I have a million things I SHOULD be doing, but, I got sidetracked with some photos.  A friend had her little girl's photos done recently and the photographer used Christmas lights in them.  That had never crossed my mind for some reason, so, I started digging and opened up a whole world of ideas I never would have come up with on my own!

I can't remember what this is called, but, I'm itching to put up the Christmas tree now!!!  You are supposed to be able to change the glow of a light to any shape you want.  Dave and I worked at this for far too long, but, we only managed to get hearts or half of a Christmas tree.  I'm not sure exactly what we are doing wrong, but, how fun will it be to do this on the glow of the tree lights to get pictures of the kiddos!
Next, I started poking around on Pinterest and come across a bunch of fun photographs.  I LOVED this picture (click here to open the link) and had to try it with Olivia.  I certainly did not get the same effect, but, I still love the photos!!  I'd like to think it's because they have a better camera and not assume it's the photographer! ;O)

This is my absolute favorite! I wish it wasn't so tippy though, I can fix that!

Prior to taking the light shots, I thought I'd test out the B&W mode on my camera.  Dave's used it before, but, I never have.  Check out these shots!!!  I LOVE them all!

This will upset all of the grandma's, but, the kid cries every time I put her down, so, her tears no longer have the same effect on her mother!

I made Owen sit and do some too, he was less than thrilled especially since his dad just cut his hair.  Despite his less than eager disposition, I was thrilled with the results!  I love how the black and white emphasize their little faces.

This is my absolute favorite of Owen, but, it wasn't as in-focus as I would have liked.  I messed around with it and even added a little color.  I still like it regardless of a little blur! ;O)
