Just Playing...

I'm supposed to be working, I'm SO behind I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.  But, I got smacked over the head with a cold on Friday and am using that as an excuse to play instead! ;O)

There's a new version of Photoshop out and I've been debating the need for an upgrade.  At the same time, in my online photography studies, I've read it's important to photograph in "Camera Raw" for better manipulation in the editing phase.  However, my current version of Photoshop isn't compatible with my camera's "camera raw" files.  So, I've been on Photoshop's website today and downloaded a trial of Photoshop CS6 and Light Room 4.

I took a few shots of Olivia last month in "camera raw" not realizing there would be a compatibility issue.  I've been playing with them a little and although I can see some of the benefits, I'm not sure this camera raw thing is necessary if you know how to get around in Photoshop.  However, that could be do to operator error! ;O)

Anyway, I wanted to play around in CS6 anyway and edit these photos that I couldn't play with before and get a feel for the new program.  I need to take new photos, just probably won't get to it until April after my reports are submitted.

Hope you all are having a wonderful St. Patty's Day!

Photo Shoot with Gramps

I've been meaning to get out and get pictures of Owen for his 6th birthday (yes it's been months), but, never got around to it.  Dad being here was the perfect excuse to finally do it and the weather was absolutely perfect yesterday.  We had just gotten a bit of snow on Sunday so that there was some on the trees and the temperature was just under freezing with beautiful sunny blue skies.  Today however, is another story!!  The temp has dropped and the wind is blowing like crazy!  I'm glad we did these yesterday!

Will gave me a remote for my camera and I used it to take the group shots, but, I couldn't figure out to hide the remote nor could I seem to sit in such a way that I looked natural or even not pregnant, everyone else looks cute though! ;O)

We ended up at the park twice.  The first time I went mostly with the intentions of getting pictures of
Owen and scoping out some good locations for a group shot.  But, right about the time we got there, the clouds parted and it was so bright, Owen couldn't hardly open his eyes.  The snow reflects the sun until there's no direction he could look without squinting.  When we went back, he wasn't nearly as cooperative so this is about the best I could do.

Owen did get to leave a head print in the snow though courtesy of Gramps.  I don't recall him requesting for one however! ;O)

Gramps is in Town!

My dad is in town visiting and the kids couldn't be more excited.  I was putting Owen's clothes away the night dad flew in and Owen came in the room and said "Can you wait until your dad gets
here?"...he was so excited to see him he'd been counting the days down for at least a month.

This is Olivia's first time meeting him, but, it didn't take long for her to warm up to him.  She's been pretty sick lately and still had a good fever in these photos, but, she looks pretty comfortable considering! ;O)

My grandmother had heart surgery this past week and is doing well, but, it scared us all.  The bracelets Olivia has in the pics below are from her.  She thought it was very important that Olivia had a gold bracelet because when her kids were little, the jewelry store in her town used to give one to each newborn.  My mom picked these out and Olivia does seem to love them...she plays with them all the time although, I'm not sure that was the intent.  But, they each have two little bells that make lots of noise!
