Take Two with Twinkle Lights!

Alright, I don't think my lens is quite up to what I want it to be considering my limited "studio" space.  So, I can't get Olivia far enough in front of the lights (without her leaning off the bed anyway) to completely lose the wire.  But, I'm still thrilled with the results I got!
I don't know why, but, I especially liked this one with those little feet sticking straight up.  I didn't bother to edit it too much, but, wanted it posted anyway.

I LOVE my Lights!!!

O.k., so, when I first used these, it was downstairs where we have laminate floors that reflected a lot of oranges.  So much so, I couldn't edit the color out of the shots.  Well, after some online courses, some research, and some trial and error, I'm finally figuring it out!!  I LOVE them now!!  My new "studio" is in my room with Olivia on my bed.  I need to figure out how to sit her on something to help the dress.  But, take a look at these...

This one looks angry, but, it's actually her being silly and blowing raspberries...note the spit!  She has a terrible rash on her chin thanks to this little habit!

This face I have Dave to thank for, he does this weird little squishy face grin and she picked up on it months ago.  Sometimes, thats the only kind of smile we get!!  I hate it!!!
 Here's the best shots!
And some for fun..I want to try this again with different lights to see if I can get a similar effect to some I've seen online.  I need white ones for it though...and some natural light which is kind of a joke this time of year!

Come Here Doggy Woggy....

Max has been such an amazing dog with both kids, we're really lucky to have him.  As you can see, Olivia thinks he's great and likes to give him an "exam" when she can get her hands on him....

She was pleased as punch that she was being watched!

This is new in the last few weeks.  I'm not sure I can explain it...I need to get a video.  She makes this face and then breathes really hard through her nose...do it and you will here how loud it is.  When she's being silly, she does that noise.  But, the face that goes along with it is really what is so amusing!!  She has me rolling on the floor with this face...doesn't she look like she's ready to mess you up! ;O)

First Stab at Christmas Pics...

These didn't go quite as well as hoped, but, were fun anyway!

Should have left the hood off on these...

8 Month Comparison

Last post today, I swear!  I have SO much to do, it's easier to be on the computer! ;O)  I've been meaning to come up with a comparison shot of these kids, it's been months since I posted the last one.  I think if anything, they are looking more and more alike!  I can assure you nobody questions if they're related anyway!!

Of course, Owen is smiling in every photo I have of him and at best, Olivia has quit crying, briefly!  She's such a cry baby!!!  I think if anything, Owen has more hair than her...not a good sign!  Besides their hair and eye color, there's not too much that doesn't match up!

Just 5 Short Months Later....

I finally got the pictures back from a photo shoot that my sister bought me on Groupon.  Needless to say, I don't plan to do business with them again.  They did however grant my request for extra digital shots, so, here's the run down...

This whole shoot was doomed from the start, Dave got a last minute offer to go on that huge fishing boat, so, it was just me and the kids.  Everything that could go wrong did, beginning with the fact that we couldn't decide whether or not to cancel up until the last minute, so we had nothing to wear...hence my sloppy t-shirt and jeans that clearly accentuate the negative!  I'm so glad I had Olivia to hold in front of me in most shots! ;O)

I loved these, but, Olivia didn't look at the camera in a single shot.  I asked them to try and crop her head from another photo into it, but, they did a horrific job.

New Lens for Christmas!

Dave got me a new lens for low light pictures and let me have it early!  I'm SO excited and have been playing with it a little bit.

We had Owen's birthday party this weekend because so many office parties are scheduled for the rest of the month.  We ended up with 9 kiddos over a year old and 5 under...it was a bit much, we thought we were toning it down this year because we bought him an ipod.  I'm not sure we accomplished what we set out to do, but, I could not be happier it is done and over! ;O)  There was so much chaos, these are the only pics I got of the whole party.  My uncle took a few others thankfully!

This one makes him look so much older I think.  It's so hard to watch him grow up!  He had a lot of fun though and enjoyed spending time with all of our family.

Then there's this one! ;O)  Talk about growing up!  So, they say a picture says a thousand words...do you get anything out of this one?  Hehe, poor Max!  Both he and Daisy have been really good with Olivia, even more so than with Owen.  She's usually pretty gentle, but, every once in a while she get a hold of a chunk of fur and really pull.

We've been trying to get her to crawl to no avail.  Here her dad has propped her up in the starting position...and just a few seconds later...
She has slid her legs out behind her and is on her belly shocked that nobody is racing to grab her up and give her the toy she wanted that is just out of reach.  Check out that hair!  I don't know what I did to her the night before after her bath, but, her hair stuck up like that all day long!  By the way, she was in a cute outfit earlier that day, but, poured water all down the front of her, so, we put some comfy clothes on to tide her over until bath time...thats why the mis-match! ;O)

With the new lens, it is MUCH easier to get the effect I wanted with the lights.  Now the only problem is getting my unwilling "subjects" to hold still long enough for me to get them in focus!  Here's a couple test attempts...I think I'm going to end up super imposing the kids in front of the tree, its just nearly impossible otherwise!

I tried snowflakes with Owen, the lights themselves should have been in better focus too.  I have some practicing to do!
