Things have been crazy busy as usual. We're having more daycare issues and are not sure what we're going to do. They claim Owen is falling behind and demanding we bring him in at least 4 days a week, the teacher has dug her heels in at 5 days. So, we'll see what happens. I'm spending my free time researching and interviewing preschools without much success in the mean time.
We've had one crazy weekend after the next it seems and this one was no exception. Owen had 2 birthday parties on Saturday, one in town at 9:15 in the morning and a second one later that night at 7:15. It was a long day for all of us! Sunday Owen and I spent the day with Shawnie, Suzanne, and Rikki. Both Rikki and Suzanne were in town just for the weekend, but for different reasons. Rik was here for her brother's birthday and Suzanne was snowed-in attempting to get out on the Iditarod trail where she volunteers every year. It's been a year since we'd seen either of them, so it was great to catch-up. Dave spent the day in the Valley at his shooting competition and headed back out later that night for his hockey game. He's been playing on a second team the last few weeks which means two evening games a week. I think its starting to take a toll on him, but the season is coming to an end soon.
The weather around here has been totally bizarre lately which doesn't help our hectic schedules. We were in the high 30s to low 40s for weeks when the temperature plummeted overnight and we ended up with 7 inches of snow dumped on us during work one day. It kind of warmed up, but dumped another few inches the next week only to be followed up by these crazy high winds!! We managed to get Owen out to try out his new kite though, so that was a plus!!! The last couple days have been really cold but still, which was good for the mushers to take off on Sunday. Today though, we had quite a bit of snow with crazy high wind gusts that make the whole house shake. Then just in the last few minutes its clear blue skies with lots of sun...of course, thats probably courtesy of the winds. Anyway, you definitely have to layer up around here if you are heading out and be prepared for anything!!
